allcreatures: fatchance: Ring-billed gulls (Laurus delawarensis). Rather than classify this as a seagull, it is probably more appropriate to call it the parking-lot gull. It is found everywhere in North America except Alaska and the arctic provinces of Canada. Many inland Ring-bills will never see the ocean nor dip their feet in salt water. The birds shown here have just passed their first winter. As summer (and adulthood) nears they will lose their mottled plumage, and their pinkish feet will turn yellow.
